19 babies born in Dar es Salaam on New Year's Eve 2025
DAR ES SALAAM; 19 babies have been born in regional referral hospitals in Dar es Salaam on New Year's Eve 2025.
The hospitals' press officers confirmed this yesterday when they spoke to HabariLEO.
Of the children, eight were born at Muhimbili National Hospital, eight at Mwananyamala Regional Referral Hospital and three at Temeke Regional Referral Hospital.
Muhimbili Upanga Hospital Public Relations Officer, Angela Mndolwa said the children born in Upanga are four, two girls and two boys.
"They were born as twins, a girl and a boy, normally, but the other two, one of whom is a boy, were born through caesarean section," said Angela.
She said they are all doing well but have not yet been allowed to go home.
Mloganzila Public Relations Officer, Priscus Silayo said that four children were born on New Year's Eve, two girls and two boys. All are doing well but have not yet been allowed to go home.
Mwananyamala Regional Referral Hospital Public Relations Officer, Florian Kaijage said that eight children were born at the hospital, including one girl and seven boys.
"Among them there are also twins and three were born by cesarean section, namely the twins and one other. All the children and their mothers are doing well," said Kaijage.
In addition, at Temeke Regional Referral Hospital, three children were born, two girls and one boy.
"All were born normally and their development is good although they are still under the supervision of doctors," said the hospital's Public Relations Officer, Onesmo Milanzi.
