Gandhi statue to be brought down on Ghana

A group of lecturers and student campaigners in Ghana who have been campaigning for the removal of India’s Mahatma Gandhi statue will have their day as the foreign ministry have said they will move it to a safer location. The activists complained that Gandhi was racist toward black people taking note of his 21 years spent in South Africa where his legacy has also been questioned, fighting for the rights of the Indians living in the country at the time.
