Drake Wore a Tuxedo Just for Rihanna Because That's What True Love Is

Drake won the first gong of the night at the MTV Video Music Awards, but wasn’t in the audience to accept it. His absence was especially suspicious considering he took out a billboard to congratulate Rihanna on being the recipient of the MTV Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. But apparently the Canadian was just stuck in midtown traffic because he made it just in time to present Ms. Fenty with her lifetime achievement honor — and he got all dressed up for the special occasion.

While everyone else in the audience was dressed for the club or like they just stepped out of the shower, the Views artist was ready for a black tie event. Was he going to make the ultimate grand gesture and propose to Rihanna? He sure was dressed for it in a swanky tuxedo.

And while he didn’t get down on one knee, he did declare his love. “Most of all, we love the woman who hasn’t changed…she’s someone I’ve been in love with since I was 22 years old,” he admitted during his speech.

Wedding bells might not be in Drake’s immediate future, but he already has the outfit ready.
